For the Narrabeen Allnighter 2021, the main event is a trail race to complete the furthest distance in 12 hours.

There will also be a marathon starting at Midnight, and a teams event for the 12 hour race, for teams of 2.

Entry limits apply, see below.

The races will be held on a 5.275 km out and back trail loop, adjacent to Narrabeen Lake, 20km North of Sydney.

The Marathon is 8 laps. 

The trail is the bush trail that heads West from the start line at the Sailing Club

There will be divisions for Male, Female, plus age groups (Min 3) in all races.  

The trail races have been measured, but cannot be certified for records etc. The trail is flat, smooth and fast. Headlamps are required.

The allnighter races are sanctioned by AURA, Australian Ultra Runners Association Inc,


The race starts at Narrabeen Lakes Sailing Club, Jamieson Park, off The Esplanade, Narrabeen, NSW, 2101

Covid Protocols.

General advice

Strict COVID-Safe protocols will be in place for the  including race pack collection, athlete screening questions, sanitiser stations and social distancing.

If you have visited or have been in contact with someone who has visited one of the NSW Health identified COVID hot spots at race date, please do not attend. There may be no hot spots at race time. 

Please do not attend the event if you have flu like symptoms or have had a COVID test and awaiting the result.

Note the above questions may be asked on arrival, and temperatures may be checked.

We will have a QR code and all runners, crew and volunteers need to check in.
Unless otherwise advised, all runners, crew and volunteers need to be fully vaccinated.
Runners- please provide proof when collecting your race pack.
Crews and Volunteers, please provide proof at the Race centre for a tag.

Crew and volunteers need to wear a mask at all times within the race precinct.
Runners need to wear a mask at all times that they are not running.

Some restrictions may be eased by race date, if not required by Public Health orders or medical advice.

Race Advice

Race packs and race bibs. 

Runners can collect their race packs from 4 PM. Please don’t crowd the pickup locations, which will be indentified by race category - Allnighter Male, Allnighter Female, Teams, Marathon (from 10 PM)


There will be no formal briefing. All briefing details will be emailed to entrants and any questions can then be put on the Facebook page or via email. 

Starting Protocol and Times.

Do not gather in groups prior to the start. Please remain a good distance from the start area until your starting group is called up, about 5 minutes before the start.. Please maintain a minimum of 1.5 metres distance between yourself and others while gathered at the starting area and when setting up your aid area..

Aid Station.

There will not be an aid station. All runners MUST bring and carry their own water and provide their own race fuel. There will be access to self serve water near the start refill containers.    



Numbers may be limited to one, plus one close family member, per race entrant, due to capacity limits in place for the event. Crews will need to spread out from other crews to meet the 1.5m rule.

Finish Protocol and Awards

Trophies will be presented to individual runners progressively as runners cross the finish line. There will be no awards ceremony. If you feel you may be in contention for an age group award, please wait for a few minutes and we will inform you. Otherwise, all runners are requested to please depart the finish area as soon as practical.




Typical temps from 15 min to 24 max. Humid with a sea breeze until midnight.


Trophies will be awarded for 1st, and other places dependant on entrant numbers, for male and female in all events,

There will also be trophies for Age Groups of 3 or more.

If an entrant is prevented from entering by Publie Health Orders, there will be a full refund, less fees.

Withdraw before Nov 14      -  Full entry fee less admin costs

After Nov 13 and before Nov 22    - 75% entry fee less admin.

After Nov 21 and before Nov 30, close of entries  -  25% entry fee less admin.

After Nov  30    -      No refund.



Trophies will be presented as soon as practical after winners finish their race.



Hot Showers available from 4 am Sunday.

Toilets and cold showers available all night.



Parking is available at the start in Jamieson Park, and local streets

Parking fees apply in Jamieson Park from 7am to 7pm.

It is unlikely that parking inspectors will issue fines late afternoon, but no guarantees are given.

By Car, either by Wakehurst Parkway or Pittwater Road to Mactier St/ Pittwater Road Lights,

Turn West and follow the road adjacent to the Lake for about 1km. The entrance is jus before the steep hill.

For travel from Sydney Airport-

Train to Wynyard, about $17, Bus, about $6, to Mactier St, Narrabeen, 1 km walk to the Start.,_Sydney#Trackplan

Airport Shuttle, about $45.

Hire Car - Harbour Bridge, Spit Bridge or Roseville Bridge, then as above.
